Bryan DeParsia

is a self-taught photographer based in Sunnyside, Queens, where he lives and keeps his studio. His work centers on portraiture, both environmental and studio.

His sittings are slow and intimate, They run for two hours and yield two rolls of film. The process centers on conversation. The pictures come from gestures and emotions that surface in response to the light, the space, and the people in the room.

He also maintains an active documentary practice. He photographs New York's kink scene from within and the streets and ecology of his own neighborhood.

He is open to personal and commercial collaborations, including editorial, fashion, and portraiture.
